CONSULTATION

Have you gotten a new puppy or new dog in the family and need some guidance or advice on which courses are best for you and your dog? Maybe help deciding which dog best suits your family before you get a dog? Have an older or newly adopted dog and don’t know how to address issues you are experiencing? Schedule a 45-minute one-on-one consultation with a certified trainer to see where you should go from here.  Cost: $110.00

SINGLE PRIVATE TRAINING SESSION

You and your pup can work one-on-one with a Certified Dog Trainer for 1 hour at the New Mexico Dog Training Academy focusing on adjusting those 1 or 2 unwanted behaviors modifications.  Cost: $170.00

In-Home single private training session is available however additional fees will be charged to cover mileage at $.75 per mile round trip to your location from Cedar Crest, NM.

PRIVATE TRAINING PACKAGE (6 WEEKS)

New Mexico Dog Training Academy, LLC is offering a 6-week private Session Basic Obedience, Advanced Obedience or addressing existing issues teaching you and your dog how to work together as a team. You and your pup will be working with a Certified Dog Trainer once a week for 1 hour at the NM Dog Training Facility.  Basic Obedience will include sit, down, stay, come, walking nicely on leash, go to place, leave-it while Advanced Obedience will include fine tuning the basics, walking on and off leash, stop, back up, stand, chin, and switch among other cues.  Cost: $994.00

PUPPY KINDERGARTEN (6 WEEKS + Orientation)

New Mexico Dog Training Academy, LLC is offering a 7-week semi-private class limited to 6 puppies and their owners.  Class covers owners’ behaviors, puppy behaviors, and Pre-Canine Good Citizen Test behaviors including puppy training information such as housetraining, chewing, the most effective way to teach practical skills such as coming when called.  Basic skills covered includes sit, come when called, name recognition, taking treats gently, sitting politely for petting, relinquishing objects, and walking nicely on a leash. We will work a lot on confidence building and deterring separation anxiety using many different strategies. Week 1 is Orientation for humans only. Cost: $255.00

BASIC OBEDIENCE AND SOCIAL SKILLS (6 WEEKS + Orientation)

This is a 6-week semi-private class limited to 5 dogs and their owners, open to dogs 4 months and older (unless we have spoken over the phone about a younger pup). This class provides the foundational skills necessary for your dog to become a well-mannered, family pet. Having a reliable and dependable pet provides you with freedom to access the world together, whether you are headed to the outdoor café, the hiking trails or the agility field, it all starts here. This class covers basic skills such as sit, down, stay, recall, relinquishing objects and go to place. Often times people retake the Basic Obedience and Social Skills class with their pup to fine tune the basics and help their pup to build confidence. Cost: $297.00

ADVANCED OBEDIENCE AND SOCIAL SKILLS (6 WEEKS)

This is a 6-week semi-private class limited to 5 dogs and their owners. With the Basic Foundations Skills mastered, the Advanced Obedience and Social Skills class provides the opportunity for you and your dog to proof the basic skills previously learned by exposing your dog to a wide variety of auditory and visual stimuli. The enriched environment provides multiple opportunities and experiences for your dog to filter extraneous information as it continues to strengthen recall skills, further develop the reliability of the stay cue, and begin to chain multiple behaviors together and learn some new skills.  Cost: $297.00

21-DAY DREAM DOG CHALLENGE

Cost: $427 Payment collected upon completion of your first conversation with the trainer

  • How it works:
    • Sign up and go through a 60-minute conversation with your trainer
    • If we decide it is a good fit for you and your dog, we will collect payment ($427 + tax) and get you started
    • If you join the 21-day challenge – we’ll offer you $50 towards your continuation in the next class
    • If we decide this is not a good fit, your trainer will recommend the best training for you and your pup
    • Once payment has been collected – no refunds will be offered
  • What is included in the 21-day Challenge:
    • Welcome Email Packet
    • 30-minute In-person evaluation and onboarding session
      • 20 minutes evaluating goals and issues
      • 10 minutes to discuss 14 Day homework guide and explanations/demonstrations
        • Provide: Leash, Collar, Treats and Clicker, Notebook of Homework
    • Follow up/accountability check in week 1
      • This is a 20-to-30-minute phone call to review the original goals, evaluate progress and answer any questions
    • In-person 45-minute training session at the beginning of week 2
    • Follow up/accountability check in week 2
    • In-person 45-minute training session at the beginning of week 3
    • 12 day follow up
      • This is another 20-to-30-minute phone call to answer any questions and decide next steps

SKILLS REFRESH WORKSHOPS (2 WEEKS)

Don’t want to commit to 6 complete weeks of training? Has your pup already been through Basic and/or Advanced Obedience classes WITH New Mexico Dog Training Academy?  Come spend 2 semi-private1-hour sessions with us as a refresher.  Class will be limited to 5 teams and your trainer will be available to assist you and your pup address issues you may still be having such as Loose Leash Walking, Recall, Stay, Leave-it.  It is also a good opportunity to simply be around other teams. This class will be tailored to your unique situation so what you are working on my not be what the team next to you is working on. Cost: $167.00

REFRESH LEARING WITH GAMES (5 WEEKS)

If you and your pup have been through Basic Obedience and Social Skills and the Advanced Obedience and Social Skills, then this class is for you and your pup. Playing games with your dog is the best way to engage your dog’s attention. Dogs quickly learn that training is fun, and the fun has rules. Unlike regular training, a competitive style will further improve your dog’s confidence. This class is about building a relationship with your dog while communicating and having fun furthering your human/dog team skills. This will be both mental and physical exercise for you and your dog. The class is designed for adolescent to adult dogs (8 months and older) that know sit, down, stay, come, heel, no and off while around mild distractions. In addition, your pup cannot be reactive or fearful of other humans or dogs and is able to work off leash. Come have fun competing with others in the class and win prizes. Cost: $280.00

TRICKS (5 WEEKS)

Tricks are a fun way to engage your dog’s mind, provide mental stimulation and make training fun for everyone in the family. Tricks can be entertaining, can build handler focus and attention and help build confidence in shy dogs. In this class you will learn how to teach your dog fun things to do by shaping and capturing behaviors that you can turn into fun tricks and entertainment for all to watch. Completion of our Basic Social Skills class is recommended. Cost: $280.00

CANINE GOOD CITIZEN CLASS AND TEST (5 WEEKS)

With both Basic and Advanced foundation skills completed, the AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) class provides the opportunity to prove that your dog can remain well-mannered in public and be a good canine citizen! What is the Canine Good Citizen Test? The Canine Good Citizen test is an evaluation established by the American Kennel Club. What many don’t realize is that it is an evaluation for both a dog and his or her owner. Specific Test Items are accepting a friendly stranger, sitting politely for petting, appearance and grooming, walking on a loose leash, walking through a crowd, sit and down on command, staying in place, coming when called, behaving politely around other dogs, confident at all times when faced with distractions, and able to demonstrate the dog can be left in the presence of a trusted person while maintaining good manners. Please note that any dog that growls or snaps at, bites, attacks or attempts to attack another person or another dog is not a good citizen and should not be attempting this class.  Cost $297.00 + $35.00 test fee

SERVICE DOG TRAINING FOR PTSD, ANXIETY, ALERT, and MOBILITY

You and your dog must be vetted prior to signing up for Service Dog related classes.  Service Dog Training is unique to each individual and usually requires a series of trainings that will take place for New Mexico Dog Training Academy, LLC to be able to test Service Dog Teams on Canine Good Citizen, Canine Urban, Canine Community and Public Access. All training will be done with a Certified Dog Trainer and Certified Service Dog Coach. We will work specifically with your doctor or therapist to identify proper tasks for your service dog to perform.  Contact New Mexico Dog Training Academy to obtain an application and get more information.
